Have you ever thought that H.M. Revenue & Customs are concerned about your stress levels? Well they are.

With just a few months to go before the need to file self assessment tax forms online & to find a large sum of money by the end of January 2010, HMRC has set up a flexible Budget Payment Plan which means regular payments can now be made by Direct Debit.

The Budget Payment Plan is available to all taxpayers whose payments are up to date and allows you to decide to pay either a weekly or monthly payment amount. The scheme has the advantage of being so flexible that you can take a break at any time, suspend payments for a period of up to six months, or even to cancel completely.

The system is simple and you can sign up for the scheme online in minutes being confident that you are in a secure environment.

The scheme validates your payment reference, protects you with the usual Direct Debit guarantee and saves time and postage.

The system can be set up as a single payment or installments

The Direct Debit system can also be used to pay Corporation tax, PAYE/NI for employers, pension schemes and the Construction Industry Scheme.

Payments made using the Budget Plan help to reduce the overall bill which needs to be paid by the end of January and July
